Saugus is a medium-sized coastal town (i.e. on the ocean, a bay, or inlet) located in the state of Massachusetts. With a population of 28,361 people and five constituent neighborhoods, Saugus is the 69th largest community in Massachusetts.

Housing costs in Saugus are among some of the highest in the nation, although real estate prices here don't compare to real estate prices in the most expensive communities in Massachusetts.

Saugus is neither predominantly blue-collar nor white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Saugus is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Saugus who work in office and administrative support (15.15%), management occupations (11.86%), and sales jobs (10.12%).

One of the nice things about Saugus is that it is nautical, which means that parts of it are somewhat historic and touch the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and bays.
